Due to group expansion Crowne Plaza Hotel Northwood Requires an Events Sales Manager

The Hotel

The award winning Crowne Plaza Hotel Northwood is a luxurious haven, situated in a mature and tranquil parkland setting, just minutes from Dublin Airport. Guests enjoy superb facilities and exceptional world class service which one would expect from such a prestigious name. The hotel offers 204 guest rooms, complimented by a selection of suites, club floor and club lounge, State of the art conference centre with 24 meeting rooms, a business centre, Inca Coffee Company Lounge, Cinnabar Red Bar and Touzai Restaurant. Crowne Plaza is part of Tifco Ltd which is comprised of the Crowne Plaza Dublin Northwood, Dundalk, Blanchardstown, Express by Holiday Inn Dublin Airport, The Burlington Hotel, Clontarf Castle Hotel & Cork International Airport Hotel.

Reporting to the General Manager:

  • To work with the General Manager, in promoting and marketing the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
  • To increase revenue and maximise yield in all market segments, with a particular focus on the Conference Segment. This includes rooms, conference room hire and food and beverage.  
  • To work to ensure budgeted sales, average room rates and occupancy in both rooms and catering are met.
  • Involves Pro-active and Re-active Sales
  • Working in conjuction with the C&B office team.
  • Role would suit someone who would get satisfaction from getting the business into the hotel and bringing that business right through to and including the signing of the contract phase.
  • You would need to liaise with regular clients as well as pro-actively seek new business.
  • Role will be based in our hotel in Santry, however flexibility to travel is required for this role.

The Candidate

  • Must have previous hotel Sales Experience
  • Experience in an international branded hotel would be desirable but not essential
  • Extensive knowledge of the Irish Conference market
  • Revenue and target driven
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible to travel both nationally and internationally
  • Must be a car owner with a full clean drivers licence
  • All applicants must have permission to work in Ireland on a full time basis

We are currently recruiting for a Sales and Marketing Director. Reporting to the Managing Director, your responsibility will be for the sales & marketing division with full P&L responsibility. The role will encompass the provision of inspirational leadership to the existing sales teams, strong performance management and a customer centric approach to retaining and enhancing profitability with both existing and new customers.

Main Tasks:

  • Planning the development and Implementation of promotional strategies and marketing plans;
  • To create and implement programmes to achieve greater profitability for the group thus increasing Rev Par in all properties with a focus on increasing conference sales;
  • Achievement of top quality results is mission critical, whilst developing and implementing innovative commercial solutions, key account management and sales organisational development will also be high on your agenda;
  • To manage a team of Sales & Marketing Professionals;
  • To Build Brand Awareness through effective Sales & Marketing Strategies.

  • With high level communication and presentation skills, you will have the presence, poise and polish to build first class relationships with colleagues and customers alike;
  • This role will require an individual of the highest calibre in terms of sales force leadership and commercial capability;
  • You will be self motivated, driven, passionate and ambitious for yourself and your team. Additionally, your analytical and numerical competency will be second to none;
  • Candidates will be experienced Sales & Marketing Directors/leaders - perhaps with the headroom for future career growth and with a successful track record of running a large, high achieving sales division.
The remuneration package reflects the senior nature of the post and includes an excellent base salary and significant bonus potential.
