County Louth Golf Club, Baltray

County Louth Golf Club, "Baltray" as it is more affectionately known is situated 4 miles from the historic town of Drogheda at the mouth of the river Boyne. With the river to the south and the Irish Sea to the east. This is Links golf at its very best, with only the muted murmur of a ships engine to break the sounds of nature, as it quietly wends its way up river to the port.

Rated in Golf Digest's top 100 courses in the world as a "hidden gem". It is one of the top twenty five courses in the British Isles and it is in the top six in the island. Sometimes ferocious and other times benign, it provides competition for all handicaps. In today's language it could well be described as "user friendly".

Concra Wood Golf Club

Lough Muckno may be a well kept secret, but not for much longer. As it drapes itself lazily around tree-bound islands and along the shore, the lough promises one of Ireland’s most beautiful and evocative settings.

Overlooking it all is Concra Wood Golf & Country Club. What other golf course can boast such a location with views over the Monaghan drumlins to distant mountains? What other golf course can boast two of Ireland’s greatest golfing legends as the designers?

Concra Wood Golf & Country Club was designed by Christy O’Connor Junior and Christy O’Connor Senior. It opened in 2008, and will become one of Ireland’s and Europe’s finest golf courses.

Lough Muckno and the golf course are gloriously entwined. Eleven holes lure you to the water’s edge, promising danger and excitement time and again. It makes Concra Wood a stern and beautiful test of golf, whatever your ability.
